Гость
Though The Outer Worlds has a unique aesthetic and fine-tunes many of the mechanics seen in earlier examples of the genre from Bethesda and Obsidian , it showcases some of the style’s storytelling limitations as well. While characters in The Outer Worlds are memorable, that is in part because they’re written flatly enough that they’re easily reduced to a few key featu

It may be tempting for Avowed secrets to establish more about its player character in pursuit of a more character-driven story. However, if the game is going to take the most successful parts of Skyrim while stepping out from its shadow, that weight should really be carried more by the NPCs while players are given enough variety in terms of both origins and dialog options to engage with scripted characters in interesting ways. There are still many details about Avowed which have yet to be announced. It remains unclear which direction Obsidian will be going with, but one thing is for certain: by taking on The Elder Scrolls , Avowed takes on high risks, and the possibility of even greater rewa

As with all leaks, this should be taken with a grain of salt, but a lot of it does line up with one certain and confirmed detail: Avowed takes place in Eora. The setting means Obsidian is transforming its Pillars of Eternity franchise from an isometric RPG to a full blown action-RPG, which is exciting enough for fans of the franchise. However, it lends credence to a few details such as the in-depth character creator pulled from the races that Avowed and POE likely share , the presence of Gods, and the similar creatu

Multi-classing was introduced in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire , and it completely revamped the entire class system from Pillars 1 . Multi-classing is by no means a new mechanic, though. It goes all the way back to tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons , but nonetheless, it is almost entirely unheard of in modern big-budget RPGs. Some might find multi-classing too complicated and outdated, but if done well, Avowed could use this uncommon system to set itself apart from its competit

In Pillars of Eternity 2 , multi-classing allowed the player to customize characters as a mix of any two classes in the game. A multi-class character misses out on the very most powerful abilities available to both classes, but gains all the benefits of having two sets of powers and bonuses that synergize together. For example, a Fighter/Rogue multi-class becomes a Swashbuckler, a Barbarian/Cipher becomes a Witch, and a Wizard/Paladin becomes an Arcane Knight. With 11 main classes in the game, there are 55 unique multi-class options, but with the addition of 57 optional sub-classes, the number of possible multi-class combinations is over 2,

Avowed returns Obsidian fans to the world of Eora from the studio’s two Pillars of Eternity games, though like Fallout before it the franchise’s isometric top-down viewpoint will be swapped out for an Elder Scrolls ’-esque first-person perspective. Not only is Avowed also a fantasy, but certain aspects like the lost Engwithan civilization and its vast underground ruins are particularly reminiscent of Skyrim ’s Dwemer among other similarit

However, it also means fans can look to Pillars of Eternity to make some educated guesses about Avowed ‘s features . The playable races will likely follow suit, if not entirely then mostly, but there’s another key element likely to follow: its class system. As RPGs have moved forward, many have adopted a more open-ended approach to classes based on simple skill trees, with the last Elder Scrolls game to have one (which still retained some level of fluidity) was Oblivi

There’s a lot to be said about Avowed , but very little is official. A recent leak indicated that Avowed will be bigger than Skyrim , have a more reactive world, and include a real-time weather system. Other details include mod support, a large number of factions, companions to carry into battle, a story set amid a war against Tyranny, huge bosses and the presence of Gods, two large cities, Pillars of Eternity creatures, in-depth dialogue, and a release window of late 2022/early 2

Avowed could include battles which surpass those in Skyrim ’s Civil War , which were reduced to parties the size of raiding bands. That didn’t strike too many players as odd – after all, cities like Whiterun were very small in-game, so taking them over with a small force made more sense. However, Avowed could also deliver on cities and towns which feel realistically sized like the ones in The Witcher 3 , as opposed to Skyrim ’s cities which sometimes had as few as 20 reside

In the story, dragons were usually beasts meant to be killed, with only a rare few dragons, such as Paarthurnax, acting as friendly allies. Even despite their antagonistic nature, dragons were all as intelligent, if not more so, than the humanoid races of Skyrim . They had written and spoken language, as well as their own goals and plots. All the same, dragons were not usually spoken to or interacted with peaceably as NPCs, which is the greatest difference between Elder Scrolls and Avowed ‘s setting when it comes to drag
