Гость
There are a total of three BG3 subclasses Rogue players can try out, each of which focuses on different aspects of the class, and offers a selection of unique skills, proficiencies, and other features. As you level up in one of these BG3 Rogue subclasses, you will gain more abilities that are unique to your subclass choice.
Fiend Warlocks made a pact with an entity known for corrupting and destroying and often served those ends through their actions, intentionally or otherwise. Fiend Warlocks immediately receive the power «Dark One’s Blessing,» which allows them to receive HP equal to their Charisma modifier plus their level whenever they reduce a foe to 0 HP. This helps keep the Fiend’s health topped off and allows them greater survivability.

The Urchin background grants proficiency in Sleight of Hand and Stealth, so these two classic Rogue options are removed from their massive list of 11 possible skills. Charlatans lose Deception and Sleight of Hand, while Guild Artisans lose Persuasion and Insight.

The Sorcerer and Warlock multiclass build is one of the most popular in BG3 because of high damage potential, both class’ reliance on Charisma, and the added bonuses that the Warlock class can provide to a Sorcerer, like armor proficiency.

If you are dead set on including a character in your party, simply talk to Withers to respec them to one of the optimal Wizard companion classes listed above. This way, you won’t miss out on that character’s questline, and you won’t have to suffer from an improperly balanced party.

Where multiclassing is concerned, Warlock pairs excellently with the other Charisma Caster classes: Paladin, Bard, and Sorcerer. A Paladin with Pact of the Blade can dump their strength stat entirely and focus on Charisma, gaining better spellcasting with no loss in their melee combat capabilities, while also using the Warlock’s spell slots (which recharge on a short rest) to dish out Divine Smites more often. Access to Metamagic from the Sorcerer can allow some incredibly busted combos through the use of quickened spell and distant spell, including the ability to rapid-fire 6 eldritch blasts in a single turn at level 10. Bards with the College of Swords subclass can make excellent use of the Pact of the Blade to reduce the number of attributes they need to worry about, while also gaining access to a much wider range of damage and support spells from the Bard spell list and Magical Secrets.

Hexblade Warlocks make a pact with a mysterious entity from the Shadowfell , manifesting as sentient magical weapons forged from shadow. Picking this subclass at level 1 will give you the ability «Hexed Warrior», which grants proficiency in medium armor, shields, and martial weapons. Using «Bind Hexed Weapon» on a weapon of their choice, they can use their Charisma Modifier instead of their Strength or Dexterity when attacking with that weapon, as long as they’re proficient. A Hexed Weapon also has a chance of inflicting the Hexblade’s Curse on any creature it strikes.

In Act 1 , which typically brings players up to around Level 5 , you will be able to choose your Sorcerer Subclass (Draconic Bloodline), your Draconic Ancestry (Black or Red), several spells from Cantrip to Level Baldur’s Gate 3 Switch, two Metamagic abilities, and a Feat.

For Rogues, this means sacrificing some Sneak Attack damage for the ability to perform another Sneak Attack in the same turn. Getting to Rogue 10 keeps Sneak Attack’s bonus damage at a nice 5d6, and getting two of them off in one turn means a total of 10d6 damage on top of regular weapon damage – plus, the ability to wear heavier armor is a nice bonus, too.

Duergar also gain the Dwarven Resilience passive alongside Duergar Resilience, granting Advantage on saving throws against Illusions, Charm, Paralysis, and Poison. The Darkvision can be nice, too, though the reduction in movement distance is a notable downside of the race. Most races can move at least 9m on a turn, while Dwarves can only go 7.5m.

At sixth level, Giant Barbarians gain Elemental Cleaver. This allows them to add acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder damage to their weapon while raging, and also adds the Thrown property to their weapon when used. Additionally, weapons under the effect of Elemental Cleaver will be returned to your hand immediately after being thrown, allowing for greater flexibility in throwing weapon builds. The elemental damage behaves like a damage rider when throwing the weapon, meaning the elemental damage is boosted independently by things like the Rage buff, Tavern Brawler, or the Ring of Flinging. This allows you to achieve much higher damage than expected with weapons enhanced using Elemental Cleaver.

Naturally, the Giant Barbarian can make great use of the two equipment sets that were clearly designed with Barbarians in mind, the Wrath Set and the Bonespike Set. Picking up the Enraging Heart Garb at Moonrise, for example, is a great way to get extra Constitution and (If the bug with Ruintamer Heart gets fixed) get the Wrath buff by raging.
